I collaborated with fashion designer Tom Lake to create a telescoping, 3d printed mask. We had two real sheep's skulls 3d scanned. I reduced the number of polygons in blender, giving it that geometric texture. (in blender its called macerate.)
Moi3d was the tool of choice to merge the two sheep skulls together. One skull formed the snout the other the horns. To be 3d printable the cad geometry must be water-tight - without holes. Otherwise the printer will reject it.
The mask was printed in four pieces. If we have access to a bigger printer, it can be printed in one piece. Nylon straps finish it off.
